What Happened Five Years Ago Changed My Life
Five years ago, on May 25, 2011, I published my first novel, Ties That Bind. At the time, I didn’t fully realize what a fun and exciting journey life was about to become.
I had the dream like most authors to write full-time and I saw myself doing it. But when Ties That Bind first released, sales were slow. No one knew who I was, but I didn’t give up. What started off as a slow stream of sales grew into a wild river, and by the fall of 2011, thousands of Kindle copies were being sold each month. By the spring of 2012, it was in the top 5 in the Police Procedural genre on Amazon US. At that point, I had a couple other books published, as well.
This month–this year–I celebrate five years as a published author and the readers who love my books! I celebrate being able to offer my readers twenty-five books as of the date of this post with more in the writing and editing stages.
I am so grateful for the doors that have opened up as the result of being a published author. When I say I’m living the dream, I mean it. A heartfelt thank you to all my readers.
If you haven’t yet read Ties That Bind, you can download the e-book version for free from popular retailers. It’s also available in paperback, and, recently, it has also become available in hardcover. For retailer links, visit the Ties That Bind Purchase Options page.
