Two of my favorite things in this world are dogs and law enforcement. The world would be a lot less without either of them. Of course, I love my husband of twenty years and animals of all kinds. (Did I inadvertently call my husband an animal? LOL) I love being next to the water, in the water, walks in nature and so much more. Obviously, I love writing, reading, and all things books! But dogs and law enforcement…love, love, love.
There are no police dogs in my latest release, In the Line of Duty, but it is dedicated to all those who serve, have served, or those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I wanted to show an inside view of policing—the human side of policing. You’ll see just how loyal and connected they are to one another, how they fare in the light of grief and loss of a brother.
While it’s true that In the Line of Duty is technically book 7 in the Detective Madison Knight series, it’s not necessary for you to have read previous books in the series to follow the storyline. But don’t take my word for it. Here is what some reviewers have said regarding that fact:
“Although In The Line Of Duty is the seventh Detective Madison Knight novel in the series, it is the first I have read and I was glad not to have any problems with missing information spoiling the storyline.”
Stephanie Jane, Literary Flits
“The book can be read standalone if you haven’t read the others in the series. The author has done her research on how police departments run… All of the characters are well written. If you enjoy law enforcement books, you will appreciate this novel.”
Felita Daniels, Lilac Reviews
“Even though this is billed as “Madison Knight #7”, please do NOT let that discourage you from reading! I have not read any prior novels in this series, and I had no trouble at all following along.”
Krystal, Red Wine and Books
“This is the seventh book in the series and it’s my first book that I read. I didn’t get lost when I read it. I understood what was going on. Enjoyed the plot, characters. A very written story for sure. We all need to thank our police for doing their jobs [and for putting] their lives are on the line every day.”
Stacey Schneller, Books, Dreams, Life
“While this is the seventh book in the Madison Knight series, this is a book which can be read on its own.”
