style="text-align: center;"><strong>Meet today’s guest, Carolyn
Arnold.</strong></h4>
<p><strong> </strong>She is an international bestselling and
award-winning author, as well as a speaker, teacher, and inspirational mentor.
She has four continuing fiction series and has written nearly thirty books.
Both her female detective and FBI profiler series have been praised by those in
law enforcement as being accurate and entertaining, leading her to adopt the
trademark, POLICE PROCEDURALS RESPECTED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT™.</p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">Today, she answers a few questions
for us and gives us insight into her Detective Madison Knight series and <em>Power Struggle</em>.</p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What inspired you to
write the Detective Madison Knight series?</strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">Put simply, I wanted to see a
kick-ass female protagonist in law enforcement. At the time I started writing
Madison, women mostly played supporting roles to male leads. Not only did I
want a female out front but I wanted her to speak her mind and not be afraid of
doing whatever it took to pursue justice.</p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What is unique about
the Detective Madison Knight series?</strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">This series has a broad cast of
characters, starting with a strong female detective, a CSU team, a medical
examiner, members of SWAT, the brass, and the city’s mayor. That makes for a lot of potential
conflict and character growth.</p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What can readers expect
from <em>Power Struggle</em>?</strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">This is the darkest installment in
the Detective Madison Knight series to date. Every reader can expect their
heartrate to tick up along with their blood pressure! After all, this is a
story about one Mafia hit man who’s
back for revenge and one detective who’s
not going down without a fight. Only one of them can survive.</p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What are reviewers
saying about <em>Power Struggle</em>?</strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">Reviewers are loving it, and the
quotes below are just a few snippets!</p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">“A thrilling page-turner featuring a
well-written, captivating, and logical plot along with realistic characters…”<br /> <strong><em>–NY Literary Magazine</em></strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">“There is no denying this is yet another

Addict</em></strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">“I love the character Madison Knight. She is a
great detective, and I think this series would make a great TV show.”<br /> <strong><em>–Harps Romance Book Review</em></strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">“The premise is a good one with lots of
excitement, credible suspects as bodies fall, and a cold-hearted villain.”<br />
<strong><em>–Linda
Strong Book Reviews</em></strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">“Arnold’s work is definitely on par
with the top writers in crime, and this book was no different.”<br />
<strong><em>–Paperback
Reviews</em></strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What was your
inspiration for writing <em>Power Struggle</em>?</strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">The conflict between the Russian
Mafia and Detective Madison Knight goes back to the start of the series, and I
thought it was time to bring some sort of resolution to that overarching
plotline. Just <em>how</em>
it is resolved is something you’ll
need to read the book to find out, though. No spoilers here!</p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">When I went to write <em>Power Struggle</em>,
I knew it was going to be darker than the rest of the series. With that said, I
didn’t go too deep
into the gory side of things; I kept it mostly psychological. And don’t worry if you haven’t read the previous books in the series—this one can stand alone.</p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;"><strong>How do you conduct your
research?</strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">I have amazing contacts who work—or who have worked—in law enforcement, including police
officers, detectives, members of SWAT, and people in forensics. I even have a
contact who used to work as a coroner. So whenever I
have a question, I reach out to them. They are so selfless with their time, and
I am very grateful.</p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Where can we get a copy
of <em>Power Struggle</em>?</strong></p>
<p
style="text-align: justify;">It is available from popular
retailers in e-book, paperback, and hardcover formats.</p>
