On Thursday, June 15th, I attended a celebration for the Sisters in Crime Toronto Chapter turning 25 years old. It was a lot of fun, and I finally met other members in person. Everyone had a smile on their face and warmth in their souls. It was a rewarding experience for sure as these people were amazing.

As a guest of honor that night, Hank Phillippi Ryan was there promoting her latest release Say No More. It was interesting hearing about her inspiration for this book, and I can’t wait to dig into over my next vacation.

Hank is an award-winning author and a winner of 33 Emmy awards for her criminal investigative reporting. In addition to writing bestselling mysteries, she’s a journalist with Boston’s WHDH-TV. But even more impressive than her resume is the inspirational force she is. Starting out as a young girl who loved to read, she let her trust and faith in the universe guide her life course, and this resonated with me on a personal level as I was “magically” directed back to writing after being away from it for thirteen years. She is a down-to-earth and lovely person and I wish her continued success. And not only did she pose for a picture with me and a hardcover of my novel, Remnants, she wanted the copy to read it! How awesome is that! 😀

Isn’t Hank the best? I’ve known her for years (thanks to SinC). She’s genuine, so she WILL read your book. Be sure to follow up to see what she thought!
